The project ““A Avó Veio Trabalhar” – Grandma came to work,” which takes place in Lagoa on the island of São Miguel, is recruiting “new grandmothers” who are over 60 years old. Currently, with a group of 15 elderly women, the project, promoted by the Fermenta Association in partnership with the local municipality, aims to provide active aging through art and creativity.
This initiative, active since 2019, stands out for integrating traditional crafts and design elements, contributing not only to the preservation of cultural traditions but also to the promotion of well-being and social interaction among the participants.
